There are prints that dress us. And then there are those that tell a story.

Each season, I create a unique collection universe for Maison Fauve, and the print chosen to illustrate it is carefully considered. It's a story embodied not only by the patterns, but also by a motif, colors, and materials.

For this new collection, I wanted to tell you who we are, and to translate Maison Fauve's DNA into a pattern. It wasn't an easy task, as my influences are diverse: Art Deco, abstraction, figurative works, as well as completely deconstructed ones. I also have a fascination for curiosity cabinets, like a heterogeneous mishmash that nonetheless forms an aesthetic and coherent whole.
Let me tell you how the Manifesto print came to be, and all that it symbolizes for Maison Fauve.

A print that tells the story of Maison Fauve

"Les Mots Bleus" is a song by Christophe that talks about love, and how words can fail to describe all its complexity and intensity. It evokes the depth of the feeling of love beyond words.

This is exactly the idea that drives me for Manifesto: to seek out what makes up the essence of Maison Fauve, to tell our story in a way other than with words.

I kept in mind the symbolism of the curiosity cabinet; I had already explored this type of drawing, like an old engraving, in the Fauvae Botanica collection, as well as in one of our very first patterns, but I wanted to go further.

Visual coherence being the key to a pattern, I thought about the type of fabric that offers this narrative possibility, and it became obvious to me: Toile de Jouy.

These famous monochrome fabrics get their particularity from the printing technique: the engraved copper plate, then the copper roller, which allow for considerable drawing fineness. Toile de Jouy has something very close to engraving printed on fabric, so it is completely in the spirit of the "line" I am looking for in the design.

Moreover, the motifs are expressed in narrative islands, with the background providing breathing room. And that's where the idea makes perfect sense: my "cabinet of curiosities" will be this vignette, and it will tell the story of Maison Fauve through symbolic elements.

A motif like a Manifesto

The drawing is already a first message: chiseled, precise, like old engravings, while the watercolor work magnifies the color, stretches it, and gives it depth.

Maison Fauve's "visual grammar" is found in all the elements:

the peacock, an animal very present in curiosity cabinets, and essential for us, it is at the heart of the Maison Fauve logo,
the tiger, the wild animal as an obvious choice, echoing our collection of animal print patterns (and a nod to our name which also comes from Fauvism),
the peonies, which I wear on my arm, and which offer a major element in this imaginary garden,
the swallows, which my husband wears on his back, a more intimate symbol for me of shared love,
the embroidery scissors, because sewing is our identity,
the corals, like foliage, which revisit one of Maison Fauve's very first prints, and energize the pattern.

Why Manifesto? Because this print is a manifesto of who we are, of our uniqueness. The brand is 11 years old this year, and this pattern naturally confirms the universe of Maison Fauve.

Four colors, four ways to bring the pattern to life

Manifesto is available in four colors: Red, Green, Blue, and Black/Ecru.

Four interpretations of the same design, playing with the color codes of Toile de Jouy. Red asserts the pattern with intensity. Green evokes nature and the print's bucolic inspirations. Blue fits into the universe of the collection Les Mots Bleus. Black/Ecru plays on contrast and the graphic strength of the design.

To be worn as a total look or in touches, Manifesto lends itself to everyone's desires. A strong piece, a printed detail, an entire silhouette: it's up to you to compose your own manifesto.

Two materials, two expressions of Manifesto

During the Spring/Summer 26 Natural High collection, we launched a new material at Maison Fauve: printed cotton gabardine. A real success, and the culmination of a desire: to embrace prints on stronger pieces, such as a jacket or trousers. And above all, the possibility of having fun creating total looks by combining gabardine and viscose poplin. The silhouette is bold, and that's totally us!

Cotton gabardine: a fabric with good body

With its twill weave and body, cotton gabardine gives the pattern a special presence. The color rendition is incredible: the pattern is magnificent, the watercolor work fully showcased.

Manifesto in cotton gabardine lends itself to many pieces from the Maison Fauve wardrobe: from the Synopsis Bermuda shorts to the Misfit Perfecto jacket, including the Worn jeans, the Mimosa and Manhattan blazers, the Pilar jacket, the Roman coat, the Peacock shorts, all pieces that require a medium-weight fabric with a beautiful hand.

A print for strong silhouettes, characterful pieces, and sewing projects that don't go unnoticed.

Viscose poplin: all softness

Viscose poplin offers another interpretation of Manifesto. Fluid and soft, it is opaque (no need to line your garment) and lends itself to light pieces.

It will be perfect for the Missive blouse and its charming sleeves, as well as the Folio top. A shirt, like Scala or Skyline, will be a little gem. And of course, dresses like Prose, Cuba Libre, or even Rosalie will have an undeniable retro charm in Manifesto.

A new print in line with Maison Fauve

Manifesto is part of the history of Maison Fauve prints.

Like the creations of previous collections, it carries the desire to offer unique, recognizable designs that give clothing a true identity.

Today, it joins the Fall/Winter 26/27 collection Les Mots Bleus, with a particular ambition... To stay!

Manifesto is a permanent print. It is not just discovered for a season or a launch. It is destined to accompany sewing projects and creative desires over time.
