Summer is gently fading, the first cool mornings are setting in, and the desire to get back to sewing is palpable. The Maison Fauve Autumn/Winter 2026/2027 capsule collection tells its story beyond words...

Les Mots Bleus is an intention. The story unfolds in colors, in patterns, an atmosphere between poetry and nostalgia emerges. It's also about boldness and freedom, a silhouette that plays with nonchalance, gender, and influences.

This season, blue reigns supreme: vibrant on our new Belle Époque jacquard with Art Nouveau-inspired flowers, it comes in a gradation of shades on solids and enhances Manifesto, our signature print.
This new print is Maison Fauve's manifesto: the poetry of a secret garden, a cabinet of curiosities, a blend of classicism and audacity. It tells us a story beyond words.

In terms of materials, we have selected beautiful corduroys, incredibly high-quality wools, ultra-soft viscose knits, while cotton gabardine and viscose poplin adopt the Manifesto print.

What are the new patterns in the collection?

The collection is built around the idea of a wardrobe that is as feminine as it is easy to adopt. A grand overcoat, a delicate blouse, an elaborate dress, a deceptively demure top and mischievous Bermuda shorts, the Maison Fauve woman's wardrobe does not lack panache and asserts its attention to detail: darts and pleats, always, like a common thread running through the collections. The volumes are just right, the pieces interact with each other.

The ROMAN overcoat, enveloping, can of course be made into a cozy coat, but also a barn jacket-inspired jacket, depending on the chosen fabric. As always, the pattern offers very elaborate details and multiple options. The cut is structured, the finishes are spot on.

The PROSE dress, as beautiful as it is comfortable, will accompany you in all circumstances. The model can be varied at will to sew your pattern tirelessly through the seasons. Its elaborate construction will delight seamstresses, without getting lost in complex techniques.

The beautiful romantic blouse MISSIVE, airy, is a jewel of femininity with a slightly old-fashioned charm, yet totally in vogue with its airy volume.

The pretty FOLIO blouse, quick and more accessible, has just enough character to define the look. It also comes in several versions, making it achievable for seamstresses of all levels.

And to infuse a little freedom and nonchalance, the beautiful SYNOPSIS Bermuda shorts. The troublemaker of the collection, it defuses the wardrobe and gives it a contemporary look.

This selection allows for creating complete silhouettes and playing with contrasts between materials and volumes.

What are the new fabrics in the collection?

While viscose poplin and cotton gabardine are regulars in our Fabric Library, new materials are joining the party.

The fabrics of the season are:

• Belle Époque jacquard, a little marvel that combines suppleness and hold. The woven floral motif is inspired by Art Nouveau friezes, with a slightly satin finish and a superb textured effect. A medium-weight jacquard, it will look equally beautiful on a jacket, trousers, or for a structured top or skirt.
• Manifesto viscose poplin, always as soft and fluid, will allow you to sew a fabulous dress or a beautiful blouse with an undeniable poetic charge. Opaque, it does not need to be lined.
• Cotton gabardine with its twill weave also adopts the Manifesto print. What could be more fabulous than a jacket or jeans in our signature motif?!
• Tencel, linen, and cotton doupion sees its color palette expand. The material is still as beautiful, with its textured effect, its unique hand, and its suppleness that allows for a multitude of sewing projects.
• A much-noticed new arrival this season, the 95% viscose and 5% elastane ribbed knit. Very soft, breathable, and ultra-comfortable to wear, it's a marvel! As soon as it arrived, it adopted the Maison Fauve Pantone colors: Cinnamon, Scarab Green, Ink Blue, Plum, but also Black (timeless).
• Another new arrival at Maison Fauve, cotton velvet. Fine-ribbed or finely corduroy, it instantly plunges us into autumn. Its easy-to-adopt color palette allows for all daring, and we had fun combining it with our prints but also in contrast with solids for the ROMAN overcoat. Our velvets have the ideal weight and drape for sewing jackets, blousons, trousers, shorts, overshirts, or beautiful Bermuda shorts. Please note that this fabric was sourced as deadstock, so we will not be able to offer it again once stock is exhausted.

Are the fabrics only suitable for the new patterns?

Not at all!

As always at Maison Fauve, the capsule materials have been selected to be suitable for many sewing projects beyond just the new patterns.

The Manifesto gabardine will be ideal for the Roman overcoat, but also for jeans like Worn or Ronsard, or even a Misfit perfecto.

The velvet is only evoked in touches on the collar and pockets in the shooting (due to limited stock) but it is of course ideal for trousers like Ronsard or Worn, a jacket like Pilar or a mid-season blazer like Manhattan.

The ribbed knit will be perfect for the Ludmilla dress, and it will allow for a beautiful reinterpretation of the Pirate marinière. It has the perfect opacity and weight for any type of project.

The knit has 100% elasticity in width and 60% in height (grainline direction). It is a very stretchy knit in both directions.

Its width of 130 cm does not change the consumption indicated for the Pirate and Ludmilla patterns.
For any other model that is not a Maison Fauve pattern, you will need to consider the placement of your pattern pieces to determine the quantity to order.

The Belle Époque jacquard is presented on the skirt version of Prose, and with the sleeveless version of the Folio top. But also as a stunning set with the Calypso jacket and Récif trousers. Enough to give you great creative ideas!

What materials to choose for the Roman overcoat?

The Roman overcoat naturally calls for materials with enough body to maintain its line and structure.

Plain or Manifesto printed cotton gabardine, velvet, and also the entire range of coat wools are perfect options.

The choice of fabric combined with all the options offered by the pattern will allow for completely varying the spirit of the model: more classic, graphic, colorful, or casual.

What materials to use for the Prose dress and the Folio and Missive blouses?

The Prose, Folio, and Missive models allow you to play with both Maison Fauve prints and solids.

The printed Manifesto poplin, of course, or even the doupion can create timeless or more sophisticated versions.
For blouses, lighter materials are easily considered: tencel satin and its fluidity will make a magnificent Missive blouse, as will tencel, viscose twill, or cotton voile. And what about Daphné lace: the finishes of Missive are perfect, so lace will be a very inspired (and inspiring) choice!

For the long-sleeved versions of Folio, we have contrasted the cuff using white cotton voile. But you can keep the same material as for the rest of the garment.

As always, refer to the fabric recommendations for each pattern before choosing your material.

What colors make up the autumn/winter palette?

While blue is very present, the color palette also contains red/orange, brown, russet, green, plum, warm and autumnal tones that echo the season.

Let me introduce them to you:

• Blue illuminates our new jacquard, presents itself as obvious on the Manifesto print, and the doupions offer a superb gradation: Storm Blue and Smoky Blue join Navy Blue

• Green comes in Khaki, Scarab, Moss Green, to be adopted in small touches like for a velvet collar or all over with a beautiful printed dress or a ribbed knit top

• Reds/Oranges illuminate the palette, accompanied by warm and more nuanced tones: bright Cinnamon knit, incandescent print in a gradient of Red, Camel and Beige velvet, to be paired with the doupions already present in the collections (Glazed Brown and Fauve)

• Plum remains a strong marker of the season, it returns on the ribbed knit
• And to counterbalance the strong colors, Beige, Ecru, Black and Navy Blue will be perfect: plain cotton gabardine, or our new print declined in the neutral tones of an old engraving.

This palette has been designed to facilitate combinations and allow for the creation of a coherent wardrobe, where pieces can be worn together season after season.

Are the buttons and accessories matched to the fabrics?

Yes. The capsule's accessories have been selected to complement the new materials and complete the silhouettes. All fabrics come with matching sewing thread, carefully chosen.

The Wink Mat buttons in 12 mm and 15 mm Storm Blue complete the range and match the new doupion. The haberdashery can also be used on many other sewing projects. Each fabric product sheet will include recommendations for both sewing thread and buttons.

Are the capsule patterns suitable for beginner sewers?

The difficulty levels can vary from one model to another. The Folio blouse can be a good project for progress, while more structured pieces like the Roman overcoat or the Synopsis Bermuda shorts will require more precision and technical mastery.

We advise you to consult the indicated level on each pattern sheet as well as the material recommendations before starting your project. In addition, all patterns have a step-by-step video, and for multi-option patterns, the most technical version will be detailed.

Can models be easily adapted to one's stature?

All patterns have shorten/lengthen lines to facilitate this adaptation.

Before cutting your fabric, take the time to compare your measurements to the size chart and check the finished garment measurements.

Can I transform the SYNOPSIS Bermuda shorts into shorts, or conversely, extend them into trousers?

The cut of the Bermuda shorts is particular: the waist is low (but with real ease for true wearing comfort), the leg is very wide. It really adopts the look of somewhat loose, almost masculine Bermuda shorts, which is what makes them so interesting.

All length variations are possible, but we have not tested lengthening or shortening them to the point of changing the style of the garment. A toile will therefore be recommended to validate the resulting look. Again, the finished garment measurement chart will allow you to better visualize the dimensions of the model, and also to compare it to other garments.

How do the new patterns "size"?

All models are sewn in the usual size of our Maison Fauve models: Déborah wears a size 36, Vanina a 50 for tops and overcoats, a 50-52 for the Bermuda shorts, dress and skirt version of Prose (waist and bust in 50, 52 from the small hips, as for all her other Maison Fauve creations), Emilie wears blouses and overcoats in 36, and the dress, skirt and Bermuda shorts in 34.

• The Roman overcoat has the necessary ease to be worn with a thick sweater, jacket or blouson underneath. Its cut is comfortable, without being excessively wide, it is not necessary to size up for a coat version, and sizing down will not give the same effect as in the visuals.
• Blouses fit true to size, Missive has a beautiful volume, intended by its cut and the presence of judiciously placed gathers to provide an airy drape without exaggerating the chest or bust. The Folio blouse has a straight cut that flares out, the pleats provide ease at the bottom of the garment, the sleeve has a comfortable width (not actually buttoned at the bottom).
• Bermuda shorts also fit true to size: numerous tests have been carried out to achieve the "just right" volume, for all waist sizes. Take your usual Maison Fauve size, as for the Worn or Ronsard jeans for example. The waist is low, lower than for Worn, but the model is less fitted. Again, based on tests, it is very comfortable without feeling like you're going to "lose" your pants.
• The Prose dress consists of a "blouse-shirt" part and a "skirt" part. You can easily adjust the bust if needed thanks to the darts, and the skirt offers real ease with its elasticated back. And of course, it will be easier to juggle between sizes if necessary between the top and bottom of the garment. The bust will have the expected volume for a slightly fitted shirt, the skirt has a magnificent drape, thanks to its construction with pleats AND darts at the front: a little jewel that flatters all silhouettes!

What if I like to have even more possibilities with my patterns?

I believe this season, we have set the bar very high:

• The Roman overcoat comes in long, short, with 2 collar versions, 2 pocket versions and 2 sleeve hem finishes. It can be sewn in gabardine as well as wool, and the lining also follows the different length versions. Hard to make it more versatile ;)
• The Prose dress is available with or without sleeves, making it a dress suitable for all seasons. The skirt comes in 2 lengths, and if you don't want to distinguish the bottom panel, simply tape the pattern pieces together by trimming the seam allowances. Speaking of the skirt, the pattern also provides for sewing the skirt alone, the model has been developed for this purpose, tested and approved, the brochure details the assembly of the waistband (which is also a separate pattern piece from the waistband of the dress version). This is not an approximation, but a true variation of the pattern. However, we have not planned to sew the bust "alone" as a shirt.
• The Missive blouse also has 2 sleeve lengths, to vary the look but also the sewing level. Without sleeves, it won't be as pretty, but why not lengthen it into a dress if you like this type of airy piece.
• The Folio top also sees the possibilities multiply: sleeveless for summer, short sleeves when you don't like bare arms, long sleeves for winter (and the much too pretty cuff detail). It also easily lengthens into an A-line dress.
• For the Synopsis Bermuda shorts, it's a strong character piece, and offering variations didn't seem appropriate to me. The range of jeans and shorts is already quite extensive in the Maison Fauve catalog, with proportions always perfectly worked for this type of more "demanding" piece in terms of cut. But the beauty of sewing is being able to adapt or transform anything, so if you want to give it a try, why not.

Are the capsule products available in limited quantities?

Some fabrics, colors, or references may be available in limited quantities. Velvets and woolens are sourced from deadstock, so it will not be possible to restock these fabrics once they are sold out.

Seasonal new arrivals, such as knits, jacquards, or prints, may not be reordered immediately once stock is depleted. Although we have planned stock that we believe is appropriate for the season, if you particularly like a combination or project, it is best to finalize your order.
